Meet the Coaches

Richard Conkle is back for his 13th year of coaching and his sixth year as Head Wrestling Coach at Medina Buckeye.  Coach Conkle is a 1985 graduate of Chippewa High School in Doylestown, Ohio, and a graduate of Ashland University with a B.S. of Science (1990) and a M. Ed in Sports Science (2003).  Coach Conkle is currently in his 24th year as a Chemistry Instructor at the Medina County Career Center.  Coach Conkle has 27 years of coaching experience: 1986-87 Junior High coach at Northwestern; 1987-1988 Assistant Coach at Plymouth High School; 1988-1992 Head Coach at Plymouth High School; 1995-2003 Assistant Coach at Cloverleaf High School; 2003-2011 Assistant Coach at Medina Buckeye; 2011-2014 Volunteer Coach at Ashland High School; and 2014-2015 Assistant Coach at Medina Buckeye. 
Coach Conkle resides in Ashland with his wife Linda and their three children.  Their son Kyle is an Asistand Coach for the team here at Buckeye, and they also have two daughters Madalynn and Megan.
Coach Conkle looks forward to creating a passion for the sport of wrestling at Medina Buckeye.  His goal is goal is to provide a culture that promotes the wrestlers’ development of work ethic and self-discipline to drive their success.
